rose bay + bondi beach
- Wednesday, October 8, 2008 -
yup, photoblog it is. bleah. oh well oh wells =P
quite amusing, cause today we were meant to go to rose bay. my mum was like, "let's go rose bay today! xxxx says rose bay is very fun & xxxx says the scenery there is great!"
so dad and bro were like.. "orh"
and i'm just like, "HUHHH T_T BUT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO WORK TODAY"
mum, "then you stay at home lor."
me, "nooooooooooooooooo T_T ok ok, i'll go" (consoling myself that i'll do my work TOMORROW) i mean, it's just sad to be left home alone on such a beautiful day to mug. after all, it IS the holidays, bleah. plus, it's too great an opportunity for phototaking to pass up. AND, if i stayed at home, i'd probably just end up moping around and emo-ing and playing sad sad piano songs and i thought it'd do me good to go and get some sunshine. (as if i don't have enough of it. lol)
so yes, we arrived at rose bay. the scenery WAS nice, but my bro and i were like. "... this is rose bay? where's the beach? where're the waves? T_T T_T T_T"
hmm shall not deprive you guys of the scenery =]
yay, nice clouds! peaceful ~

as always, i have an obsession with the sky =P

sea plane!! about to take off =]

taking off~ can still see it right? xDD

and taken off. if anyone can find it WITHOUT clicking on the pic, you are pro =]

but yup, we decided rose bay was wayy too boring. plus no suitable place for picnic, and my bro was really sad that there was no sand to play with, so we decided to migrate to bondi beach, seeing as we were in the area anyway. so half an hour later, we arrived, and set up camp. then we started eating lunch, and all these seagulls came to observe us and hopefully kop some food off us. they weren't disappointed! as experienced beach-goers, my mum saved the crusts from this morning's breakfast AND the sandwiches that she made for us today, and yay, we fed the seagulls =]
cute seagulls =]

seagulls in flight!! getting shots of them in flight was horridly gruelling T_T i was like to my bro, "throw the bread high up!!" i think i took 40 shots in total? deleted half of them which were empty screens, deleted another half which were blurry, and hmm, these are some of them =]

can you see the tiny speck of bread? courtesy of my very stingy brother =P

then we headed to the beach =] while my brother plunged headfirst into the icy water, i strolled along the sandy banks, relishing the feel of the warm sand under my bare feet.. very nice, very soft. can almost describe the feeling as "silky"
and, looking at the way my bro was rampaging around in the waves, i decided that it'd be safer to stay on the banks. it got boring after a while, so i started making random sand castles and look what i got up to:

to connie and mel, that's the closest i'll ever get to posting a photo of "myself" =P i forgot to check the position of the sun, so try as i might, i couldn't avoid capturing that shadow of me, but it does create an element of interest (i wish) to the "composition" xDD oh, and ignore the footprints, cause those were made by my bro who came running to me, trying to drag me into the waves.
he took one look at my creation, went "gay" and went running back into the waves again. SAD T_T
but, one can't avoid the waves forever, after all, it IS the beach. so, keeping a safe distance from my brother, i trudged down grudgingly (and only because i wanted photos) and dipped my feet into the water. hmm yup
random wave.. i like the... "curve" of it *cough* sorry, a better descriptive escapes me T_T

the colours are beautiful =]

i have to admit, at one point i was seriously considering "drowning" in the waves cause well... it is a very tempting thought - suddenly weightless in the ocean, floating, being buffeted by the waves; silence ringing in one's ears; absolute peace. (don't worry, i am NOT suicidal) and then, i remembered reading how drowning was one of the worst ways to die, and then i remembered how horrible it was the last time i was drenched wet, and yup, the feeling of sand sticking to yourself is far from pleasant. and i resigned to merely walking in a bit deeper. =P
ah, and even better =] progression of colours, almost. it's cooler in real life, cause you can see the almost clearness of the shallow water to a light green bluish wash to a darker bluish green to a deep blue in the horizon =]

and well, hmm. pure expanse of blue, with some random dottings of clouds. or strokes, or whatever =P

ahh... i could've laid down on the sand and stared up at this kind of sky for all of eternity and not be bored. =P

and more sky. i really should get over my obsession with blue skies T_T

ahh well, that's that. and really, TOMORROW I WILL DO MY WORK.
