LMus
- Tuesday, November 4, 2008 -
first piano lesson after 8th grade, and jimmy dropped a bombshell
he walked in carrying this whole STACK of music. and i was just like.. hmm.. o.O
then he was like, "elaine! i'm preparing you for LMus!"
it took me ages and ages to process what he was saying
me, ".................................................................... what about AMus?!!! !!!!!!!!!!!"
him, "AMus is stupid. it's a waste of money and time. you don't even do full works in AMus, still play movements of works."
me, "but but but!! pass rate of LMus only 10%!!! i'll definitely fail!"
him, "don't care what other ppl say. we'll just do our thing"
me, "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. i don't have time!"
him, "in uni if you're doing music, you have to learn 4 full works/term! that's 16 full works a year. i'm only getting you to do 8 works now you know?"
me, "i'm not full time music student!! DIFFERENT!!!!!!"
him, "........................................ but you can do it! i'm going to push you."
me, "T_T T_T T_T T_T T_T T_T T_T T_T T_T"
er yeah. so SUPPOSEDLY, i'm aiming to do LMus. er yeah.
*cough*
(don't tell jimmy this but)
I THINK, i'll do the repertoire - definitely good exposure. but i doubt i'll actually go and take the freaking LMus exam T_T i mean, i don't think, between now and this time next year, i'll be able to polish up 8 full, standard concert repertoire, works for the exam.
on top of that, he still wants me to work on a piano concerto. i'm just like.. hmm, jimmy, you know i've only ever done 2 full works, which are under 30 pages, and now you want me to do works that are 40-50 pages?! then he just gave me a weird look and went, "now's a good time to start then!"
what with.. ruse and year 11 next year, i will be very busy! there's no way i'll find the time to prac more than 3 hours a day, unless i become a total piano freak and do away with reading, going on the internet, going out with friends, general entertainment (which does NOT include australian television =P).
no, that wouldn't please anyone would it? =P
speaking of which, i should get back to studying! hmm, very productive today, i already spent 2 hours studying before jimmy came. plus was revising in both geo and history, so oh well. i'm more confident about history.. geo is... ... just got lucky in trials, cause the essay qns were easy.
i swear, if human rights and reconciliation comes out in geo, i am SO dead. same with if AID comes out. stupid aid stupid aid stupid aid T_T human geo! argh. T_T
in reply to nat, yes, jimmy is a very very very cool piano teacher! =] i think, the best teacher i've had so far? (AND HE HAS IPHONE!!! and APPLE LAPTOP! *cough* er.. sidetrack, sorry! AND FACEBOOK!! and and and... hmm yup)
but yes, BACK TO STUDYING!
