i don't get it
- Thursday, March 12, 2009 -
blah sometimes i really don't get the way adults think... or rather, the way my mum thinks T_T sigh...
why does everything have to be so calculative? and so-called "manners" and "the way that one should behave" - can't she see that it is all materialistic and constructed by a world that is very flawed?
times have changed, but she still judges ppl using the values of the past. it's a new era now, and relationships are based on honesty and frankness (mostly, anyway) it's not other ppl's fault if they fail to understand that she does not fully mean what she says and that it is all a social game and that there is a specified way that they should act (which means directly opposing her spoken wishes)
especially a teenager.
and why can't she appreciate the gesture? sigh... i mean, the fact that such a gesture was THOUGHT of should speak quite a lot, shouldn't it? but no, everything is judged on what happened in the end.
i'm being rather cryptic, but need to rant. i should be more accomodating myself, shouldn't i? but sometimes i really feel rather... indignant. i CAN understand where she's coming from, but that doesn't mean i approve/agree with the logic of her thoughts. sigh.
on a lighter note, concert ytd was greatgreatgreat FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =]
both the company and the performance was wonderful XP we clapped for so long in the end that they had to bow about 10 times and then they finally gave up and did a short encore (which seemed like an unprepared spur-of-the-moment thing WHICH IS SOO COOL AND NICE OF THEM!)
it was basically a performance of baroque motets by a boy's choir from leipzig (10 - 18 year olds. the concentration span of the young ones were AMAZING, to the point that it was almost unnatural. oh well, music geniuses, all of them XPP SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE though, in those sailor outfits, hahahahaha) who were accompanied by the sydney symphony orchestra =] very cool, and the emcee was hilarious XP wonderful introduction of the pieces, with the most tasteful humour XDDDD
the singing was so beautiful, and rather erhm.. lulling. XPPP if it wasn't for certain distractions, it wouldn't be too hard to fall asleep. but then again, it would be too INTERESTING to fall asleep. if that even makes sense ><" as in, the music was lulling, yet it was highly engaging.
ah well XD i won't forget the events of the night for a long long time to come, i think. and nat, i owe you an email right? I SHALL SEND YOU ONE SOON!!! hahahahahaha XDDDDDDDDDDD
