kayaking in the rain =D
- Saturday, January 2, 2010 -
avoca beach is this really isolated kind of beach somewhere in the central coast area. it's really curvy hahaha and there's a looonng, wide stretch of sand and then there's this large body of inland... sea? lake? no idea, hahahahahaha. i fail at geo XD
but anyway, drove down there today and went kayaking!!! wheee~! cause bro has been going on and on and on and on and on and on and on about how he wants to go kayaking (ever since last time we went canoe-ing and he was pissed that there weren't any kayaks for rent T_T)
and it really was perfect. not taking into account some things (of course, nothing is ever
perfectly perfect XP)
# impossible to take photos, because camera would get wet. i need a waterproof camera!! NEED. XP photos would have been AWESOME because well, let's just say, the view when floating in the middle of the - let's call it lake - was just breathtaking. really. and there's these hanging trees and beautifully gray, mulling skies (back to the gray skies later XD) and it's just one of the things i LOVE about being in aus =] it kind of feels like being transported back in time, when everything is quieter, simpler, there's such a rustic and untouched aura about the place, and there lacks a sense of the tamed sophistication of other wild places elsewhere on the earth, hahahah XP i am not making any sense ><"
# i got wet. really wet. probably because i'm clumsy with the paddle, so i keep getting water on myself. but nevertheless, i got really quite wet.
# and then it started raining. not just raining, but POURING. STORMING. hahahahaha and guess what popped into my mind? "this is such a 'The Notebook' moment!" hahahahaha i am completely and utterly out of my mind. XP but then again one could argue that after i got over the initial shock of suddenly becoming sopping wet, the rain just somehow made the whole experience even more... perfect XD rowed under a bridge and just sat there for a few min gently rocking in the water and listening to the cars whooshing past overhead and it was really quite a lovely moment hahahahaha. i admit, there was a point in time i thought i was going to sink because there was so much water in the kayak, but ah, the good fun of splashing water around =D
but yes, me + kayak after the storm was quite a sight to behold. i saw my bro in the distance and was just about to start laughing at how ridiculous he looked when it crossed my mind that i probably looked even worse than that. (no, i actually started laughing anyway. but i stopped when the kayak started rocking dangerously, hahahahaha)
now my arms are really quite sore and i should be tired but somehow i am just so, so, so, so HIGH =D WHEE~! don't know when the next time will be when i go kayaking and it storms like that again. but i definitely hope this isn't the first and last time ><" T_T
