two more books

graceling and fire, by kristin cashore. not what i'd usually read, but someone recommended it and it's amazing how much reading helps me forget.
both short enough to be read in a day, sweet, cliche, predictable, but nevertheless both serve the purpose of creating a world enticing and real enough for the reader to escape to. and i guess good enough that i'm sort of looking forward to reading the sequel to graceling when it comes out (fire is the prequel, but is read after graceling because well it just is XD), bitterblue.

it seems quite unreal that term 1 of the all impt year is starting in what... 6 days? as cabbage put it, it's kind of like the defining year of 11 years of education thus far, even though it's not the end, but what happens this year could close off a lot of doors, and could also open up a lot of new ones.
i guess i'm looking forward to the hectic workload and all, because i've always flourished when it's too busy to think too much - it's better to just keep doing, and to just keep trusting.

some things never cease to amaze me. like how i was looking for something, and i found the houseparty booklet and guess what i saw? facts > faith > feelings
it was never about how i felt. it was about trusting what i knew... and sooner or later feelings would follow along.

i wonder if anyone else still remembers the chinese SIA we did in sec 2. i was reading through my composition portfolio, and i was quite amused at what i wrote. to think that back then i knew that years from now i'd look back on what i wrote and learn from it. (it was in my reflection statement, hahahaha) and indeed i've changed a lot, grown a lot, and in some ways i envy the innocence and the more carefree, more ego, more oblivious nature i had back then. *shrug* oh, and of course, i envy that the girl back then could write so fluently and so well in chinese. i stumbled across quite a few words i no longer know how to read (had to guess/infer from surrounding words what it meant T_T) while reading my compos. that's... more than sad. ah well. gain some, lose some.

and i shall go and read some more books. "the book thief" was highly recommended by a certain someone - who has impeccable tastes, and understands intrinsically the styles i like. XD thank God for friends =]
