all sorts of different people
- Sunday, February 21, 2010 -
sometimes i'm astounded by the huge range of personalities which exist. and sometimes i just plain forget how eccentric people can really be.
was talking to a friend of a family friend from china today, who only very recently came to australia to do postgraduate studies (meaning she's hmm... at least 21+?)
and we were talking about random stuff - CNY, and then about the CNY TV show, and then she was like (in chinese, of course), "oh i love the magic shows they have, it's my favourite part of each year's CNY show. you know, i think magic really exists, that somewhere in this world there's a magical community, kind of like harry potter, but different. like, you all believe in God and everything, but He has to exist on some dimension and that means that there most definitely is a magical world out there."
at first i thought she was joking, but she was dead serious. o.O
and i pledge that i have not exaggerated her words one bit...
