3/4 of the way through "the giver" (and hmm i've been sort of doing work... nothing overdue, but procrastinating a bit, meh) and there are such sinister, insipid undercurrents to it.

but it's such an amazing book, about human nature, about the futility of the pursuit of perfection - because really, what will be the price, and what will you have to give up? and so in the end, is it perfect anymore? it's definitely a book that shocks, and cuts deep, making you think.

human ideals are so naive, so narrow and really, we're oh so blind. we really don't know what we want. and that's why we need God. God sees who we truly are, understands what we really need, and He provides for it all. everything ^^ faith, hope and love, the greatest of which is love, because He loved us first...
