you awake my soul

god is amazing. so, so, so amazing. and with his infinite love, he pours out his blessings upon us who call him our father, opening our eyes to the true joy and contentment that comes from him, and only him :)
woke up this morning and it was really gray and cloudy and cold and my mum was like, "eh, are you really going to beach in this weather?! AND YOU'RE WEARING SO LITTLE!" (i beg to differ, in that i was wearing a dress, tights, cardigan AND a scarf. she was trying to convince me to wear this trenchcoat on top and i was like, mum, it's
spring. SPRING.)
but god was good, and he answered our prayers and gave us such beautiful weather when we arrived at bondi :) it's so awesome, because it's been dreary and rainy the
whole week and today the skies were just perfectly blue and it was sunny and nice but with a really refreshing spring breeze that wasn't cold at all ^^

really enjoyed cg, and feel really thankful and blessed to have been able to meet all these awesome people :)

the study was really applicable and challenging - once again, god has reminded me that i don't need to be chained in by worldly expectations, tricked into thinking small and pursuing stability within my own comfort zone... i should be challenging these barriers, going beyond and above the opinions of others because in the end, the only opinion that matters is his.

but yeah there was a lot of pretty graffiti that seemed to be really deep and i had this whole internal conflict of NO I AM NOT GOING TO START ANALYSING THIS. NO. NO. NO. it seems as if english will haunt me for the rest of my life ><"
album recording was actually quite eye opening for me, despite events like kyck and rice... it was still really wow. personally i don't think i've ever felt such a strong and tangible connection to god during worship and it was just such a charged atmosphere where i seemed to actually feel god's presence there with us, that as we committed ourselves to him through song he was there and his salvation was working through each and every one of us :)

at the end of the day, while every church has its flaws and its stumbling blocks, ultimately we're worshipping one God, brought together under Jesus, and everything else becomes secondary - to forget the fundamental purpose and calling of the church in being judgemental and critical is complete foolishness...

honestly, i was really touched by the whole event and although it
was an album recording, it was so much more than that. it was a time where people gathered simply because they loved God and they could give their all to worship Him. it wasn't just singing, but it was heartfelt praising, committing to their father and saviour.
afterwards me and lil were talking and going, wow, it was actually such a personal experience cause it seemed like every single one of the songs we sang spoke to us personally (which is quite amazing) and it was so fitting seeing as we've officially completed a chapter of our lives and facing a new beginning, and through this time of worship we've been able to renew our resolutions and commitments to him in such an epic and awesome way :)
so thank you god, for everything that you've given me, everything that you've provided every single step of the way, reassuring me that in all things to seek first your kingdom, for you know all my needs and you will provide abundantly for them all ^^
