an overdue new year resolution
- Wednesday, January 19, 2011 -
i laugh reading the resolutions i made last year - i seem like an altogether different person then, and now i realise just how pointless they were. i think i forgot all about them after a few days, and it was really by pure chance that i "fulfilled" hmm... three (and i guess a half) of them XD
1. read the bible every single day, and set aside time not just for reading but for quiet reflection afterwards + thinking over what i've read
2. pray more for friends and family!
3. crochet something, anything, for myself and not to give away XD thinking of maybe a cardigan, or scarf, or a bag, ororor a blanket (a blanket would be quite crazy, but meh)
4. crochet another blanket for school! =D
5. organise allllll my CDs alphabetically/categorically. not sure which way yet. not looking forward to it though... 5 boxes worth of CDs. T_T
6. learn how to cook. cook as in, with a wok and spatula, and fire ><" asian cuisine, hahahahaha XD
7. sew a stuffed felt something =D there's this idea whirring around in my head and it's really quite intriguing XD
8. try and be less moodswingy... HAHAHAHA. but yup, moodswinging is really bad and when i'm moodswinging i'm not acting like i have an eternal hope in Christ ><"
9. get out more! spend less time in front of the computer getting exposed to radiation - rather get sunburnt, hahahaha XP (no i'm joking, really. trust me.)
10. learn how to drive (after HSC i guess. but still, LEARN HOW TO DRIVE. THIS YEAR. XD)
so this year, i'll just be content with one, one that's always not that far from my conscious thoughts and which hopefully (i
really do hope so) i won't forget after a few days, and which i think encompasses just about everything i aspire to :D
Glorify God, by enjoying Him.
Singapore + China seems like a dream now, an all-too-distant dream. part of me feels compelled to record down every minute detail, but the greater part of me (and admittedly the much lazier part XD) irrationally feels that trying to recount the journey will somehow make it less real and less concrete; go figure *shrug*. in a nutshell, it was nothing like i expected (when is anything what i expect it to be?) but an amazingly eye-opening experience that has had and will have long-reaching effects on how i see myself and who i turn out to be.
hahahahaha is it me, or am i being really vague? o.O" i blame the painkillers (which are simply amazing) and antibiotics, hahahahaha :D
