a reconsideration of prejudices

I've decided that thermodynamics isn't that bad. Maybe it was just the early morning lectures which meant that I didn't have time to grab a coffee, or the rather haphazard amalgam of theory and examples that only served to confuse, or maybe it was just the constant emphatic apologies about how boring it could be that became a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I'm still pretty sure that I do not ever want to have to do statistical thermodynamics (why, oh why does it have to be a compulsory part of the 2nd year chemistry course T_T), but currently (after some hours of revising) I am impressed by how it explains why temperature is the only thing that changes the equilibrium constant (something that never made sense and which teachers refused to explain back during HSC chemistry).
It seems so unreal that the first semester of uni is finishing quite so fast - where on earth did the past 11 weeks go?! And looming are the end of semester exams (and the submission of my first 2000 word essay)... so back to work I go!
